'so far' launch, 303

Rod Begbie is a singer/songwriter who has been playing solo and with support bands in Sydney and Melbourne over the past decade. After recording and launching a live CD in Sydney in 1999, he moved to Melbourne in 2000 to become part of the more vibrant music scene here. Since then he has played at various venues around town, including The Dan O’Connell, Bar 303, The Town Hall Hotel, and Good Morning Captain, attracting a new audience for his soulful, introspective songwriting.

In 2005/2006 he shifted his focus onto recording, putting together a band to make a seven track EP of his own material, "so far" (launched at the 303 with a full band and around the country in solo and duet formats). He also fronted ‘Autofocus’, a four-piece that have played at various venues including the Espy, the Palace and the Corner, and launched their EP in November 2006 .

Rod performs as one half of MUTE, with songwriting partner Mark Smythe. Rod and Mark share an urbane sensitivity that is reflected in their music and performances. MUTE launched their Debut EP 'Love/Hate' at The Empress, Melbourne in December 2008, and in Sydney in Feb 2009. />
